       SCUBA DIVING

As instructor my task, to teach diving, thoroughly told
Sharing Scuba diving rules, objectives and required goals
The classroom specifics, learning pressure related facts
Diagnosing signs and symptoms, with all detail it packs
.

The principles and rules keep students protected and safe
The written test, a challenge that one cannot fake
Test includes an understanding of each and all
Subcutaneous emphysema, pneumothorax and Boyles Law
Nitrogen Narcosis, embolisms, decompression tables, Martini’s Law
You must know these before you can be certified at all
.

Having learned requirements students must show
All is mastered, students now ready to onward go
As they reach expectations, with all achieved
Ready for their check dive, with certification to receive
.

I instruct with personal, understanding informative care
Knowing if there is a problem, I will be right there
The students eagerly want to master Scuba dive
They have no clue, the change coming in their lives

We travelled to the clear beautiful Florida springs
To test their knowledge, water clarity safety brings
They’ve passed the requirements of d’off and d’on
Now examining their equipment as they put it on
.

Here we are, the springs so clear and bright
Their first encounter embraced, with anxiety and delight
With proper ballast they will be weightless, as if to fly
Submerged in the rushing spring, that hums a water lullaby
.

As mask become fogged, lessons learned become real
They know how to flood their mask and how to reseal
Every class, every dive brings new wonders to see
Making forever friends with students, including me
.

My dependable Nikonos camera clutched in my hand
Capturing students documents my master plan
I observe while taking pictures, signaling ‘pose for me’
While exhausting air in my tank, as I wait patiently
.

My camera serves as a paint brush in the sea
An underwater artist, I paint the beauty for free
Through the lens I capture what words cannot say
The awesome beauty of the world on display
.

With camera steady, I frame the view
The surroundings are alive, posing on cue
What I capture will be displayed to all on land
God’s awesome world I show to my fellow man
.

S C U B A an acrostic familiar to all of us
Spells Self-contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus
.

Recreational Scuba diving is second nature for me
An exciting water world to explore and see
I am so blessed to be one of few that gets to teach
Sharing God’s beautiful creation, a priceless gift to me
.
