   Infant to Eternity

…………………………………..The Infant…………………………
In the dawn of life, a baby is born
A world of wander, innocence to be adorned
Expectations flutter like leave in the breeze
A future woven softly, in moments like these
.
There’s wonder in crinkles in each tiny fist
A cascade of futures, dreams that persist
With fingers so small, they grasp at the air
As if reaching for worlds, full of love and care
.
What paths will they wander, what tales will they weave
In the garden of life, what will they conceive
A journey awaits with its mountains and streams
Forged by desires, wishes and dreams
.
…………………………….The Youth…………………………
Now a youth peering through a light so bright
In search of truth to guide it’s light
Social media storms brew fierce and wild
In the youth’s heart, a vulnerable child
.
Friendships forged in pixels and bytes
Can turn to battles and endless fights
For though the world is vast and near
Isolation creeps and feeds on fear
.

They march through halls with heads held in shame
As comparisons lift them to play a cruel game
Am I smart enough? Am I pretty? Or kind?
What if I fall short or be left behind
.

In playgrounds forgotten, they’ll dance in the rain
And weave through the chaos, embrace every pain
So here’s today’s youth, bold, brilliant and true
With courage and passion, they’ll break through
.

…………………………………The Teenager……………………………
Now a Teenager battling identity, Who am I here?
In mirrors reflecting both hope and fear
With teenager graces come shadows of doubt
In crowded hallways and corridors, they wander about
.

The weight of expectations, a heavy unseen chain
The pressure of the future, with focus on gain
From heartache of losses, to victories small
Each chapter a lesson that helps them stand tall
.

With text books and deadlines, a path they must choose
The variety of life, which one should we lose?
Each choice a reflection, we boldly pretend
As we juggle our worries, our joys, and our friends
.
Romances unfurl like a butterfly’s wing
With giddy enchantment and a heart tugging sting
Stand in your truth, though the world may overwhelm
For at the heart of every storm, you are at the helm
.

……………………..The Young Adult………………….
As a Young Adult, in the trenches of everyday strife
The search for meaning punctuates life
For every stumble brings lessons learned
With every heartache, resilience earned
.

So here’s to a Young Adult, in the rush of the race
Finding themselves in this intricate space
With education bills piled high like a mountain of stone
In the chaos of life, one must pay their own
.

For each misstep, each stumble and fall
Is merely a chapter, a moment in all
With wisdom unearned, but painfully gained
Through trials of spirit, their essence remains
.

A job that fulfills, or one that pays well
What makes the heart sing, is a job that sails
With friendship that sway like branches in storm
They bend, they break, yet, somehow transform
.

……………………..Now Married…………………….
Married life’s journey, however it bends
To the life we are crafting, through many ends
In each challenge we face, in each joy we create
In the dance of our hearts, we find love’s true fate
.
In the dawn’s soft whisper, two hearts intertwine
With vows that reflect truth, a love’s design
Two cups of coffee brewed with hopes for the day
Yet, heavy expectations begin to weigh
.
Wrestling with budgets, with rent and the bills
Navigating chores that demand all your skills
Each task a puzzle, each moment a thread
In a dance of devotion, where oft’ fears are fed
.
We’re building a fortress, a haven, a home
With trust as our foundation, no need to roam
For amidst the fears and the trials we face
With the roots of our love, deeply anchored in grace
.
………………………… Senior Adult…………………….
Now as a Senior Adult, challenges linger near and far
The worries of health, the weight of a scar
As days turn to weeks in the blink of an eye
The burden of love ones lost, make spirits sigh
.
But still in the heart, a flicker of flame
A will to embrace life, to cherish the game
Each wrinkle a story, each laugh line a song
Yet the heart bears the weight of what’s gone
.
Hands that once crafted, and built worlds anew
Now tremble with shadows that cloud the view
Simple task morph into mountains so steep
As strength ebbs away, impossible to keep
.
The calendars weight, is heavy with time
An endless parade of requirements in rhyme
Doctor appointments, prescriptions to fill
Navigating life with an iron clad will
.
In this Senior Chapter, with grace we shall tread
For the journey continues, not just words left unsaid
With each day that dawns, let the spirit ignite
For the beauty of living is found in the fight
.
………………………Eternity……………………
From Eternity, the souls of old, they beckon me
Imbed with hope, serene and free
Fear not the current, nor the swell
For death’s mere passage is not farewell
.
With courage drawn from memories bright
I shed my burdens, embrace the night
And step with faith upon the tide
With every heartbeat, I easily glide
.
Beyond the river, eternity sings
With realms unbound and angel wings
In crossing death, I found my way
To beauty woven in this embraced day
.
Thus, fear not the end, nor the darkened night
For in the crossing, there shines the light
From shores of sorrow to skies of blue
Reaching eternity, all begins anew
.
