Through trials and heartaches, they’ve paved the way,
With bloodstained footprints, they built a brighter day.

A constitutional republic, a labor of love,
Requires our watch, like the stars up above.
For freedom’s not given; it’s guarded with care,
Each voice, each vote, a call to declare.
They chip away slowly, with cunning design,
Each freedom eroded, like sand, through time.

Most sacred of treasures, the vote in our hand,
A choice that defines and shapes our land.
Let not our voices be silent, drowned out in the fray,
For it’s in the ballot box we find our say.
Oh, the ballot! A beacon of light in the haze,
Yet many ignore it, lost in the maze.

They fill their days with distractions so small,
Oblivious to how the mighty can fall.
While the silent majority, with power to steer,
Let a vocal few undermine all we hold dear.

Beware the illusion that freedom’s secure,
For history’s lessons remind us, be sure:
To cherish what’s given, to fight and protect,
To nurture our liberties, earn their respect.
