As my physical form begins to decline

My mind, a rebel, still writes checks it cannot show
The creaky joints, the fading sight, and using a cane
Accepting reality, my body is no longer the same

There’s beauty found in weathered skin
It tell the stories of where I have been
With every deep line that paints my face
It’s a map of places, time and aging grace

With every step, I feel the weight of many years
Yet wisdom’s lessons calm my doubts and fears
I’m growing old, but I strongly hold on tight
To memories and love that still shine bright

I’ve learned to accept the passage of time
And find the beauty in this aging rhyme
I’ll cherish every moment, every single day
And find the joy in growing old, my own way

The wind, a whisper, that rustles through the leaves
A gentle reminder of the life that I’ve received

My farewell’s not the end of this dream
Anxiety may linger like a ghostly sigh
Yet my faith lets me look onward to the sky
