Jo-Joe The Feral Cat

Jo-Joe: Frank Poland – Lyrics & Music– A feral black cat visited our back yard every day for 10 years. One day, it vanished just like it appeared. It had become a thread in the fabric of our family’s daily life.

‘SHE-HE –  JO-JOE’

Oh, what a twist of fate
A feral cat climbed over our gate
It did not beg for shelter or food
It just wanted to gage our friendly mood
.

A boy or girl we did not know
So we named She-He ‘Jo-Joe’
This She-He black cat has a knack
The quickness to catch chipmunks and rats
.

That’s why Jo-Joe is a fat black cat
Catching out-quicked critters for a snack
Jo-Joe you have strange things to eat
As you prowl and roam these dangerous streets
.

We feel bad you have to stay out-doors
Where it’s cold or when the rain pours
Though you sleep and shelter under our floor
We only wish we could offer you the indoors
.

We know you appreciate our loving help
You occasionally leave a mouse at our door step
We know you don’t have kittens far or near
As we have observed your neat clipped ear
.

One day, one week, then one month passed
Our backyard, you did not show
Sincerely, we really do miss you
Our roaming black cat named Jo-Joe
.

We still think of Jo-Joe as living
In our hearts that She-He touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
Jo-Joe did not know it was loved so much
.

Apparently, you have lived all nine lives
With various Neighbors and Friends
We think you are somewhere purring
Living life number ten
.

Living life number ten
Forever gone, no returning again!
