I love to fish, it requires great focus.
That looks like a great spot,
Good cast, now let it drop.

Slow reel with a little jerk,
Wonder what those folks are doing at work.

Not a cloud in the sky, everything is so green,
The leaves are all out, what a beautiful spring.

Oops! Was that a strike,
Come on Mr. crappie take a bite.

Is that an eagle in the top of that tree?
Bet he’s having better luck than me.

Eagles are so beautiful, majestic and proud.
Maybe he’ll stay awhile if I’m not too loud.

This lure is not worth a crap,
Maybe I’ll try the old rattle-trap.

I should be home cleaning the garage or mowing the lawn,
But this day was made for fishing and having some fun.

There we go, nice big hit,
Well darn just another stick.

It’ll be nice this weekend when the girls come home,
All grown up now with lives of their own.
.
Memories of them and all their friends,
Playing and laughing, too soon it had to end.
.
That guy has a beautiful boat,
He just caught a fish, that gives me hope.
.
A few more casts, maybe over there in the reeds,
That’s where the big bass live, I’ve seen that on TV.
.
I’ve seen Jimmy Houston catch bass in a place just like this,
Now there was a guy who really love to fish.
.
He would kiss those bass and set them free,
I guess today they’ll get no kisses from me.

Well, it’s been a great day out here on the lake,
Think I’ll go get the wife and take her out for a steak.
