You Are A Pilgrim – Frank Poland: Lyrics & Music – Credit to my father, Rev Frank Poland as I have possession of his Bible and sermon notes from which I composed the following lyrical message that parallels posted songs ‘Be Not Dismayed’ and ‘If My People’. Thanks Dad!

You Are A Pilgrim
.
In a world where shadows loom,
And echoes of discord fill the room,
Apostle Peter, Chapter 2, speaks with grace,
To the weary hearts in this restless place.
.
“Dear Believers, you’re not lost,” Peter writes,
You’re pilgrims journeying towards the light.
Though under a government that does not share,
The values you cherish or the truth you bear.
.
You walk on roads both rough and long,
In a culture where you feel so wronged.
Yet, Pilgrim, rise! You have purpose, you see,
Not victims defeated, but strong and free.
.
With heads held high, your conduct shines,
Among those who judge, your spirit entwines.
Though they may speak ill and cast their disdain,
One day they’ll know of your love that sustains.
.
This strength is not weakness; it’s the power you wield,
In grief you find love, not a battle field.
You grieve for your country, for family and friends,
For a world that your children shall one day defend.
.
Habakkuk’s cry: Chapter 1, “How long, O Lord?”
You question the silence, your heart feels it more.
Corruption abounds, the wicked prosper with bold,
While righteousness suffers, the faithful grow cold.
.
Yet God does not falter; He hears every plea,
“Write down your vision; it’s plain, you’ll see.”
For seasons of waiting teach patience anew,
Though it lingers long, it’s a promise so true.
.
Chapter 2,“Though it linger, wait for it,” echoes the voice,
The time will arrive for you to rejoice!
For justice will rise from the ashes of pain,
Bringing hope for the future, like blossoms in rain.
.
Do not fear the grief that weighs on your soul,
It’s a testament of love, the search for the whole.
The journey may feel like an endless plight,
But Pilgrim, remember, the victory is in sight.
.
You are not just a wanderer lost in despair,
Each step is a story, a prayer that cares.
In the heart of the night, your lantern will glow,
Guiding those watching to the truth you know.
.
So stand firm in your values, let love be your call,
In moments of silence, you echo it all.
For Pilgrims like you light the path for the brave,
Transcending the night, on the strength of the wave.
.
Trust in the journey that leads to His will,
In faith, you shall conquer, a hope, you shall fill.
Though the road may be long and the nights seem dire,
You’re a pilgrim on a journey, igniting the fire.
.
And when they reflect on the truths you have shared,
They’ll find real strength was found when we’ve cared.
So walk on, dear Pilgrim, your heart as your guide,
For the promise is coming; let faith be your stride.
.
Do not forget, you are a Pilgrim and not alone,
Pilgrims always, with God’s grace, find their way home!
.
